Biography
Anana, Mariam is a lecturer in the Department of Languages in Mountain Top University. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and African Languages, form the University of Benin; Master’s degree in Linguistics and African Languages from the University of Ibadan; and a Ph.D. in Linguistics and African Languages, University of Ibadan.

(2018/2019 Session): She prepared students to represent Mountain Top University (MTU) at the fourth National Debate and Public Speaking Contest organised by Nigeria Debate Society in May 2019 at Rivers State University, Port-Harcourt. MTU came second in Debate and third in Public Speaking.

- Partial grant awarded by the International LAUD Symposium to attend the 36th Symposium in Germany, 2014
- Travel grant awarded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for participation in the PhD Writing Workshop organized by the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, held at the University of Ibadan from 24-25 June, 2014.
- Travel grant awarded by the 8th World Congress of African Linguistics (WOCAL 8) held at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan from August 21 to 24, 2015 (Not utilized).
- Travel grant awarded by the National Institute for Nigerian Languages (Aba) to attend the conference on Language Provisions of the National Policy on Education over the Years, 8th-11th March, 2016.
