Part Time Programmes

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Part-Time Undergraduate Degree programmes of the Centre for Continuing  Education (CCE), Mountain Top University, for the 2020/2021 Academic Session. The programmes, designed to provide quality education to those desiring to combine work and schooling, are as follows:

College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences

  1. Department of Language

 B. A. English

 6 Years (100 Level Entry)  

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes in Arts-related subjects in SSSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/Grade II or equivalent qualifications including English Language and literature-in English at not more than 2 sittings.

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

  In addition to general requirements, candidates are required to satisfy one of the requirements below:

  • ‘A’ Level: Candidates will be admitted into 200 level of 6-year part-time degree programme if they possess two “A” level passes in relevant subjects including Literature-in-English at the point of entry.
  • ND Certificate: Holders of a minimum of Lower Credit of National Diploma in relevant courses (Arts or Social Sciences) can apply for direct entry admission into 200 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.
  • NCE Certificate: Holders of NCE Merit in relevant courses (Arts and Social Sciences) can apply for admission into the 200 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.

4 Years (300 Level Entry)

            HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Arts and Social Sciences) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.

  •  B.A. Religious Studies

6 Years (100 Level Entry)   

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes in Arts-related subjects in SSSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/Grade II or

equivalent qualifications including English Language and Religious studies at not more than 2 sittings.

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements,

  • 2 passes at principal subjects at GCE (A/L)/IJMB/JUPEB or NCE holder with in relevant subjects obtained from recognized institutions.
  • Holders of Diploma of Mountain Top Bible College (MTBC)
  • Diploma of Theological Seminary and Colleges recognized by the University.

      4 Years (300 Level Entry)

  • Mature candidates not less than 30 years with evidence of 10 years’ service as a Minister of the Gospel may be considered for 300 level of 6-year programme.
  1. Department of Accounting & Finance
  • BSc. Accounting

6 Years (100 Level Entry)

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics.

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements, 2 passes at GCE (A/L) or equivalent in relevant subjects, ND (at least Lower Credit) in Accounting or Financial Studies, ATS II, ICAN Foundation with minimum of 5 years cognate working experience, NCE in Accounting with minimum of Merit passes or HND with Pass.

4 years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Accounting of Financial Studies) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.

  • BSc. Finance

6 Years (100 Level Entry)

 General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements, 2 passes at GCE (A/L) in relevant     subjects, possession of Part 1 CIBN/ICAN or at least Lower Credit in OND    Banking and Finance, Accounting and Business Administration.

Mature candidates of not less than 25 years with 3 years cognate work    experience may have Statistics in place of Mathematics, a pass in English       in CIBN examination or related professional examination

 4 Years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Financial Studies, Accounting and Business Administration) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.

6 Years (100 Level Entry)

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements,

  • GCE A/Level passes in Economics or Business Management and at least one other subject or National Diploma (ND) in Business Administration or Management Studies of approved Polytechnics or College of Technology with a grade not lower than Lower Credit.
  • Passes in the final examination of recognized professional Management/Business Administration and Supply, Institute of Transport etc.

4 Years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Management/Business Administration and Supply, Transport Studies etc.) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme

BSc. Public Administration 

6 Years (100 Level Entry)

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements, candidates must have passed Government or History and any other subjects at the GCE A/Level or at least passes at NCE in related subjects including Government/Political Science or ND, or equivalent Diploma in Public Administration and Local Government, Law, Public Relations or General Management or other related disciplines from a recognized institution with a grade not lower than Lower Credit

4 Years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Public Administration and Local Government, Law, Public Relations or General Management) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme

BSc. Industrial Relations & Personnel Management

6 Years (100 Level Entry)

General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements, candidates must have passed Two    (2) GCE A/Level passes or equivalent chosen from Economics,       Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography and           Statistics or at least passes at NCE in related subjects including        Economics/Bus. Management/Accounting/Government/Geography or ND, or equivalent Diploma in Industrial Relations, Personnel Management,

Law, Public Relations or General Management or other related disciplines from a recognised institution with a grade not lower than Lower Credit

4 years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Public Administration and Local Government, Law, Public Relations or General Management) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme

 General Admission Requirements

5 credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Economics

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

In addition to general requirements, candidates must have passed Two (2) GCE A/Level passes in Economics and at least one of Accounting, Business Management, Government, History, Agricultural Science, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Statistics or at least passes at NCE in related subject including Economics/Bus. Management/ Accounting/Government/Geography or ND, or equivalent Diploma

4 Years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Arts and Social Sciences) or professional certification in AIB, ACA, and ACIS can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme.

BSc. Mass Communication

6 Years (100 Level Entry) 

General Admission Requirement

5 Credit passes at SSCE/GCE /NECO O’ Level or Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Literature-in-English.

5 Years (200 Level Entry)

 In addition to general requirements, candidates must have passed Two (2) GCE A/Level passes or equivalent including Literature-in-English or at least passes at NCE in related subjects including English. ND or equivalent Diploma in Mass Communication, Public Relations or other related disciplines from a recognised institution with a grade not lower than Lower Credit are also acceptable.

4 Years (300 Level Entry)

HND Certificate: Holders of minimum of Lower Credit in relevant courses (Mass Communication, Public Relations or other related disciplines) can apply for admission into the 300 level of 6-year part-time degree programme
