The Mountain Top University Center for Gender Studies, commemorated the 2025 International Women’s Day with the theme “Accelerating Action Towards Women Inclusion in Academics”. The event featured, as a guest speaker, the newly appointed female professor in the College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, in the person of Prof. Patience Ajirioghene Erigbe (Professor of Business Administration, Human Resources Management and Entrepreneurship). In her remarks, the guest speaker took time to unravel her journey of perseverance and determination while navigating through the sensitive and serious terrains of motherhood, wifehood, researching, lecturering, administration and entrepreneurship. Her struggles to balance these roles successfully highlight the peculiarity of women’s challenges and the need to accelerate actions aimed at helping them to attain the peak of their profession and realise their goals in life.
The occasion further demonstrated the institutions’ commitment in accelerating action towards women emancipation and recognition in leadership positions as stipulated in Sustainable Development Goal 5 - Gender equality.
