Research scope in Computer Science & Mathematics

Computer Sciences and Mathematics are two inseparable disciplines. In our present world, what these two disciplines bring to the “table” towards the development of human life cannot be over emphasized. It is an obvious fact that the present world is technology driven and computer technology is in the forefront of development in all areas of human life. Due to the applicability of technology in all facets of human life, computer science is one of the fastest growing and leading areas of research and development all over the world. On the other hand, Mathematics being the nucleus of all sciences and a universal language has helped the world project into the future. Every real-life problem is being modelled into mathematical problems and then solved using mathematical techniques and tools.

The concept of mathematics is not just solving difficult problems in mathematics, mathematics as a discipline empowers one with the thinking ability, computational power to understand his/her immediate abstract environment, formulate some scientific hypothesis and then provide a solution. Research in the department cuts across different areas in Pure and Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences.

These include:

i. Biomathematics

ii. Artificial Intelligence

iii. Machine Learning

iv. Data Science

v. Software Engineering

vi. Cybersecurity

vii. Management Information Systems

viii. Geographical Information Systems

ix. Health Informatics

x. Database Design and Modeling

xi. Numerical Analysis

xii. Differential Equations

xiii. Optimization

xiv. Functional
