Academic Affairs - Registry

The Academic Affairs Unit in the Registry is responsible for the smooth administration of academic activities in the University. The Unit provides quality support to enrich the academic experience of all undergraduates. To enhance and strengthen the commitment of the Unit to the vision of the University, the Unit is divided into sections through which it carries out its activities. 

Senate Affairs

Senate is the highest approving statutory body on all academic matters and the Unit is the Secretariat to the University Senate. Academic Affairs prepares all necessary documents and information needed to assist Senate in its deliberations, resolutions and ensures its decisions are implemented promptly on behalf of the Registrar and Secretary to Senate. The Unit further serves as the secretariat for some standing sub-committees of Senate, essentially the Business Committee of Senate and Committee of Deans. 



The Admissions section is the first point of call for all prospective students, attending to general inquiry on admission issues. It is responsible for all admission processes and deals with monitoring and coordination of undergraduate students’ admissions into degree programmes through UTME, Direct Entry, or Transfer from other universities. Also, the section is responsible for verification of students’ results and confirmation of studentship. The section liaises with JAMB Office on admission matters and ensures strict compliance with various rules and regulations guiding admissions. It is the secretariat for the Admission Committee which is responsible for screening of applicants and selection of qualified candidates


Examinations and Records  

This section is responsible for the following:

  • Processing and issuance of transcripts to graduates and alumni of the University.

  • Clearance of final year students and processing of their list and results for NYSC.

  • Administration of University certificates.

  • Verification of transcripts and certificates.

  • Administration of semester and end-of-session results for students’ files.

  • Maintenance and management of students’ records.

  • Verification of students ‘O’ Level results.

  • Issuance of notification of result for scholarship and other official requests;

  • Maintenance and provision of academic gowns for matriculation and graduation ceremonies
