When thinking about the knowledge of the origin of our planet, the Earth, its history, and the processes of evolution it has undergone in its over 5 billion years of history, Geosciences comes to mind. At the Department of Geosciences at Mountain Top University, we train students to become specialists in the fields of Geology and Geophysics. The training is aimed at equipping students with scientific knowledge needed to explore and develop energy, mineral, and water resources, conserve the earth’s depleting resources, and as well address environmental issues and engineering problems. We are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The programme is designed to meet advanced training in all aspects of Geology and Geophysics for future challenges. Graduates will be resourceful in the following careers:
Geology Programme
O-Level Requirement:
Candidates must have five credits in Ordinary level or SSCE (WAEC or NECO) in not more than two sittings to include: English Language Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
UTME Requirement:
The University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subject requirements include:
English language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Geophysics Programme
