GENDER WEEK 2023 - LECTURE DAY | DAY 2
The 2023 Gender Week Lecture was held on Thursday, the 11th of May, with the theme “Gender Based-Violence: The Long-Standing Phenomenon Against Humanity”. The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, ably represented by Mrs. Oni. The second lecture with the sub-theme “Gender-Based Violence and the Law” was delivered by Barr, Mrs. Olohi Evelyn Bamidele, The Legal Officer, Mountain Top University.
In attendance were the Vice Chancellor of Mountain Top University, ably represented by Dr. Ologundudu, top management staff, the University Registrar Mr. Olufemi Oyewole, University Librarian Dr Helen Akinade, Deans of Colleges, Dean of Student Affairs, Faculty members, Chaplaincy unit, non-academic, registry staff and large turnout of MTU students.
Dr. Nelly Ndukwe, the Gender Desk Officer MTU expressed the need to end all forms of Gender Based violence to ensure the emancipation of women in parts of human endeavors. Dr. Ologundudu delivered the VC speech, the presentation of plaques and gifts was anchored by the registrar while the secretary, of MTU Center for Gender Studies gave the closing remarks and vote of thanks. The closing prayer was said by Dr. Helen Akinade, the University Librarian.
