Mountain Top University 2nd and 3rd Combined Convocation Ceremony Holds Midst Pomp and Pageantry.

Mountain Top University successfully held its 2nd &3rd Convocation in a combined ceremony on Thursday, 23rd December, 2021. In a beautiful ceremony organised with strict observance of the COVID-19 prevention protocols, 45 graduands of Mountain Top University were awarded First Class degrees. One hundred and sixty-four (164) graduands made Second Class (Upper) division, 120 made Second Class (Lower) division and 13 others made a Third Class. In all, there was a total of 342 graduates from the two sets - 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 sets.
The Vice-Chancellor in his address, congratulated   the graduands on the successful completion of their   programmes of study. According to him, successfully overcoming the challenges towards the attainment   of a University degree is no mean feat. He charged   them to go and make a positive difference in the   world, soaring to the top like the   Eagles that they are. In his words,   “In the light of the kind of training   you have received at Mountain Top   University, I declare you a Mountain Top Eagle”.
 In his earlier remarks, the Vice Chancellor disclosed that the Convocation Ceremony is the grand finale of a number of events lined up   to celebrate the 2nd and 3rd Combined Convocation   Week.
The events lined up for the 2nd & 3rd Combined Convocation Ceremony are as follows: 
  • Sunday, December 19, 2021 - Convocation   Thanksgiving Service.  
  • Monday, December 20, 2021 -  Convocation Press Briefing.  
  • Tuesday, December 21, 2021 -  Alumni Open Day, ESM Mu￾sic Fiesta and Art Exhibition. 
  • On the same day, Tuesday,   December 21, 2021, the Uni￾versity hosted a friendly football match with Christopher   University  
  • Wednesday, December 22, 2021 - the Convoca￾tion Play titled “Trial of COVID-19” 
  • The same day, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 -  the Vice-Chancellor’s Convocation Cocktail 
  • Thursday, December 23, 2021 - the Convocation   Ceremony with the award of First Degrees and   Conferment of Honorary Degree   on Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya.
  •   Same day, Thursday, December   23, 2021, featured the Convocation Lecture titled: “Quest for   Excellence: The Nexus of Faith,   Knowledge and Resilience”   which was delivered by the Executive Governor of Ogun State,  His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR.  

Delivering the Convocation Lecture, His Excellency   Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Executive Governor   of Ogun State, stated that Mountain Top University   (MTU) has bequeathed the graduating students with wealth that cannot   be depreciated. His Excellency noted that education is only complete   when it is grounded in morality and   that is why Mountain Top University (MTU) has attained the heights it   has.  In a wonderful move of magnanimity, His Excellency Prince Dapo  Abiodun, MFR, gave OLUSEYI,   Daniella Olubunmi, the overall best graduating student, with a CGPA of 4.96, from the Department of   Economics, College of Humanities, Management and   Continued on next page  His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, the Governor   of Ogun State delivering the convocation lecture.

 

  The Chancellor and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire   and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya    Social Sciences, the sum of #1 million naira   and an instant job with the Ogun State Government.  The Chancellor, Mountain Top University,   Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, who is the   General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) world wide, in his   address, re-emphasized that the University is   part of his 70 Point Agenda instituted to   “catch them   young”.  He charged the   graduands to   think about   bringing solutions to societal   issues and gave   them his fatherly blessings.  The highlight   of the Convocation Ceremony came, amidst fanfare, jubilations and well-wishes,   as Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya was conferred  with the Honorary Degree of   Letters (D.Litt.) Honoris Causa   in recognition of her contribution to the growth and development of MTU and for women   empowerment in the church and   the society at large.

 Some of the dignitaries   at the occasion include   the Executive Governor   of Ogun State, Prince   Dapo Abiodun (MFR),   who delivered the convocation lecture, the   wife of the Executive   Governor of Lagos   State, Dr. Ibijoke   Sanwo-olu, the wife of   the former Governor of   Lagos State, Mrs   Abimbola Fashola,   Vice-Chancellors and representatives from other universities, especially the Chairman, Committee of ViceChancellors of Private Universities in Nigeria, Professor Nimi Dimkpa Briggs, Senior Pastors of MFM and many other   great men and women from the   church, government, media and   academia. It was indeed a colourful and memorable event.
