Mountain Top University (MTU) recently took a giant stride towards its growth and expansion on Friday, March 18, 2022, by unveiling and commissioning an ultramodern lecture theatre, Marvelous Mike Lecture Theatre, at the University’s Permanent Site, Makogi Oba, Ogun State, Nigeria. The building was named after the man who built and donated it to the University - Engr Marvelous Mike Akinola. He is a staunch member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM).

The Chancellor, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elijah A. Ayolabi, in the company of other Principal Officers of the University, staff, students and friends of the University were on the ground for the historic commissioning ceremony of the architectural masterpiece. Dr. Olukoya thanked God Almighty for making it possible for the Donor to start and complete the construction of the building despite the harsh economic situation in the country. In his brief exhortation, he read from the book of Psalm 127. He encouraged the habit of ceaseless thanks to God and noted that God is the one who gives the grace to build.

The Chancellor revealed that there was no casualty throughout the duration of the construction work and that it was enough reason to offer thanksgiving to God. He proceeded to give songs of praises and prayers to God for the successful completion of the new building and for the family of the Donor – Engr. Marvelous Mike Akinola. In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, MTU, Prof. Elijah Ayolabi, stated that investment in the University is a lifetime investment because it is about building destinies. “Building a university is not a job for one person. It is a labor of love”, he said. Prof. Ayolabi appreciated the Donor for his selflessness, sacrifice, and doggedness that saw to the completion of the edifice.

The ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the Marvelous Mike Lecture Theatre were done amidst much fanfare and a rendition of Alleluia Chorus by the University Choral. The guests proceeded on a tour of the building and its facilities led by the Donor, Engr. Marvelous Mike Akinola. The ultra-modern lecture theatre is a 500-seater capacity auditorium with offices that have integrated bathroom and toilet facilities. Marvelous Mike Lecture Theatre is the first completed building at the University’s Permanent Site/Campus B.
