Professor Ayolabi becomes a fellow of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society(NMGS)
Another beautiful feather has been added to the very colorful hat of the Vice-Chancellor, Mountain Top University, Professor Elijah Ayolabi.
Ayolabi has been conferred with the prestigious fellowship of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS). The decision was made by the Council of the NMGS at its meeting in Port Harcourt in January. The investiture ceremony was held during the Annual Conference and Exhibition of the NMGS in Port Harcourt.
With this investiture, Prof. Ayolabi is entitled to have the acronym FNMGS appended to his name. There is no doubt that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayolabi, has established a great name in the field of Geosciences in Nigeria and all over the world. Through his leadership, the Department of Geosciences at Mountain Top University has won many awards in Nigeria and Africa. He is the SEG 2015 Honorary Lecturer (HL) for the Middle East and Africa.
In 2015, he won the Thambo Mbeki Leadership award of excellence (Outstanding environmental consultant and renowned Geophysicist) and the University of Ibadan honored him with a Lifetime Achievements Award in 2018. It didn’t stop there. In 2021, Professor Elijah Ayolabi won the prestigious Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) Outstanding Earth Science Lecturer Award (NOELA) in recognition of his exemplary professional practice and immense contributions to the practice and advancement of Geosciences in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry. The entire staff and students of Mountain Top University congratulate the Vice-Chancellor. We are very proud of his achievements. And of course, when the head is good, it tells positively about the rest of the body. We look forward to a brighter and more glorious future.
