DRUG ABUSE SEMINAR FOR STAFF

Mountain Top University (MTU), in association with Ministry to Drug Addicts, MFM Int’l Headquarters, organised a drug abuse awareness seminar for all staff of MTU.  The seminar conducted on Friday, 1st July 2022, had Pastor Omotayo Daniel Adebayo, MFM Ministry to Drug Addicts, as the resource person.

The main objective of this event was to collaborate with educational institutions and to raise awareness among people about the harmful effects of drugs on society. The programme started with a presentation on knowledge of substance abuse because of its increase in educational institutions.  “Students are becoming addicted to substances at an alarming rate, and threatening not just their future, but those of people around them”, said Pastor Adebayo.

The presentation also covered the cycle of drug users, the causes of drug abuse, and how to identify a drug user.   Guest speaker, Pastor Adebayo, addressed the staff and warned them that the menace of drug abuse was destroying the youth. He highlighted the sad reality of the rising trend among students.   Drug abuse is a contemporary issue and has become a pandemic problem in our society. It has always been at the front burner of discussions.

Speaking, Pastor Adebayo said parents should monitor their children. He further added that there is a need to train children to be content with what their parents provide.  The question & answer segment, which followed the presentation, was well handled by Pastor Adebayo.  The session was well-received by the staff.
